Samana 59 #2 splashed & prepped

Last November, Peter and Anne-Sophie from Caribbean Multihull's crew, went to La Rochelle, where Fountaine Pajot catamarans shipyard lies.

The second hull of the SAMANA 59, new sailing catamaran model, was splashed. She was about to get prepped for our client, before cruising across the Atlantic and reaching her destination of St Martin in the Caribbean.

Named Nikita II, this brand new yacht has been set up for private use in the Caribbean, and also regularly in the Med to make the best use of the Caribbean hurricane season. The owner is a very experienced sailor, and he will have a crew on board.

Catamaran with full comfort for the Caribbean

Our clients chose this particular model for their life on board. The couple really appreciates the layout and very generous amount of space she offers. He was also particularly seduced by the ease of sail she provides.

This Samana 59 has been set up for maximum comfort and security on board. In order to fit all the owners' requirements, we has been fitting both Fountaine Pajot factory options and ex-factory options through November, with specialist partners in La Rochelle.

As an accomplished sailor, the owner has ordered specific sails. The boat was also equipped with various ecofriendly devices, such as solar panels, a watermaker, a water dispenser to avoid buying plastic bottles and more.

A topnotch technical handover process by Fountaine Pajot

The handover of the yacht took place during the first week of December '20. We are glad that it has been a grand success, from day 1 to acceptance at the end of the week.

It has been 5 full days of handover process organized by Fountaine Pajot shipyard and during which we accompanied and helped our client. This process is a full part of Fountaine Pajot flagship handover, during which the shipyard technical team is available for all final tuning.

from the smallest knot to the hull itself.

Most importantly there are Thomas and Jean-Pierre, independant contributors whom are contracted by Fountaine Pajot. They go through the whole yacht with the owners, from the smallest knot to the hull itself. As our director Peter put it, "these guys are the Encyclopaedia Brittanica of sailing"! They speak English, French and German, and they know Fountaine Pajot flagships backwards: Alegria 67 and Samana 59.

As you will see in photos above, Pochon crew (French marine electronics and electrics leader) also came on board to proceed to finetuning during and after the testail. The testsail was a great moment to share together, full of smiles and laughter, and the owners were thrilled.

It really is a studious, tutorial and worthy five day process during which everyone gathers to go through everything. It is the best way ensure that the new owners sail away with full confidence with their yacht and that all is prepared for their own needs.
