SUMMARY:Viking Explorers Rally
DESCRIPTION:Sail the Atlantic with confidence with the Viking Explorers Rally\nFor many sailors\, crossing the Atlantic is a lifelong dream\, but planning the passage can be daunting. That’s where the Viking Explorers Rally comes in. This transatlantic rally offers a supportive and friendly way to sail from Europe to the Caribbean\, perfect for cruisers who want adventure without going it alone. \nThe rally departs each January from Las Palmas\, Gran Canaria\, and typically arrives in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It makes it an ideal choice for those dreaming of tropical anchorages and blue water sailing. \nThe Viking Explorers Rally is unique in its small-group\, non-commercial approach. Unlike some larger rallies\, this one focuses on creating a real community among participants. \nThe fleet is limited to around 20 to 25 boats\, allowing sailors to get to know each other before\, during\, and after the crossing. \nOrganisers provide weather routing\, technical support\, safety checks\, and social events\, all designed to make the experience safer and more enjoyable. It’s perfect for families\, couples\, friends\, and solo sailors who want to share the crossing with like-minded adventurers\, but without the pressure of racing. \nThe perfect gateway to Caribbean cruising\nThe rally ends in the Caribbean\, but the journey doesn’t stop there. Arriving in Saint Vincent\, participants are already well-positioned to explore the Grenadines\, Saint Lucia\, Martinique\, and beyond. \nFor many sailors\, this is just the beginning of their Caribbean season. From here\, you can follow the trade winds north or south\, island-hop\, and discover local cultures. \nThe rally also helps boats clear into customs and offers arrival support\, making that first Caribbean landfall smooth and stress-free. \n \n\n\nMore information about the Viking Explorers Rally

SUMMARY:Mini Transat 6.50 Departure
DESCRIPTION:In 2027\, the Mini Transat will leave France on September 24th\, 2027. Skippers will first sail to Las Palmas\, Gran Canaria\, and then head to Salvador de Bahia in Brazil. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Mini Transat: a solo Atlantic challenge\n\n\n\nThe Mini Transat is a solo transatlantic sailing race held every two years. Participants sail across the Atlantic Ocean alone on 6.50-meter boats\, with no contact or assistance from land. \n\n\n\nRace Overview\n\n\n\nStarting in 1977\, the Mini Transat has been a key event for sailors\, emphasizing human effort and skill over technology. The race covers about 4\,050 nautical miles in two stages: from Les Sables d’Olonne\, France\, to Santa Cruz de La Palma in the Canary Islands\, and then to Saint-François in Guadeloupe. \n\n\n\nThe Mini Transat is unique due to its strict rules: no communication with shore\, the use of small boats\, and controlled budgets. These aspects make it an authentic and challenging competition\, often serving as a starting point for professional sailors.
