Aqu\u00ed, el capit\u00e1n Thomas Bez nos cuenta su traves\u00eda transatl\u00e1ntica. Muchas gracias, Thomas, por compartir tu experiencia con nosotros.\u00a0<\/em>\u2693<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De Francia al Caribe: \u00bfme quedo o me voy?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCuando recib\u00ed la llamada de Peter, de Caribbean Multihulls, para entregarme un nuevo \u26f5&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caribbean-multihulls.com\/es\/fountaine-pajot\/new-45\/\">Elba 45<\/a>&nbsp;De La Rochelle a Antigua, me debat\u00eda entre: \u201c<strong>\u00bfEs razonable cruzar tan tarde en la temporada con vientos potencialmente muy flojos?<\/strong>?\u201d y tomarse un descanso en este per\u00edodo tan loco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finalmente decid\u00ed que ser\u00eda muy positivo dejar la vida terrenal, olvidar las m\u00e1scaras y conseguir un poco de libertad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De La Rochelle a Las Palmas: Lo que el viento se llev\u00f3<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEn cuanto el barco estuvo equipado con todos los extras (paneles solares, potabilizadora), organizamos el aprovisionamiento y empezamos a buscar una ventana meteorol\u00f3gica. De hecho, incluso a finales de primavera, las condiciones meteorol\u00f3gicas eran como en invierno y tuvimos que esperar a que se abriera una ventana meteorol\u00f3gica que nos permitiera escapar del golfo de Vizcaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finalmente lleg\u00f3 10 d\u00edas despu\u00e9s. Era una ventana peque\u00f1a, pero era una ventana. \u00c9ramos muchos barcos saliendo de La Rochelle al mismo tiempo. En las \u00faltimas 30 millas n\u00e1uticas antes del cabo Finisterre, el viento empez\u00f3 a soplar  desde el oeste-suroeste antes de lo esperado y&nbsp;<strong>Nos sorprendi\u00f3 gratamente lo bien que se comportaba con el oleaje.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En el AIS pudimos ver algunos barcos que comenzaron a dirigirse hacia tierra en busca de protecci\u00f3n y aguas tranquilas, pero nosotros logramos pasar el cabo Finisterre y evitamos quedarnos atrapados en un puerto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dirigi\u00e9ndonos hacia el sur, por fin pudimos izar las velas por primera vez y... \u00a1Qu\u00e9 agradable sorpresa! Naveg\u00e1bamos a 8-9 nudos con un viento de 15 nudos, navegando a favor del viento.<\/strong>&nbsp;Eso alegr\u00f3 a la tripulaci\u00f3n y fue prometedor para la traves\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Llegamos a Las Palmas en menos de 9 d\u00edas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Traves\u00eda transatl\u00e1ntica \u2013 Historia del lado oeste<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEs hora de comprar comida fresca, revisar el barco de arriba abajo, organizar el combustible extra y luego... Es hora de dar el gran salto hacia el oeste, hacia las puestas de sol.&nbsp;<strong>Como suele ocurrir entre las islas Canarias, tuvimos un fuerte<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Viento del norte al noreste, empuj\u00e1ndonos con buenas olas a 13 nudos, siendo el r\u00e9cord de 17,6 nudos.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Una vez fuera de las islas, pudimos disfrutar de la navegaci\u00f3n f\u00e1cil y r\u00e1pida del barco.&nbsp;<strong>Con la genoa a un lado y la vela mayor al otro, naveg\u00e1bamos tranquilamente hacia el oeste.&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Utilizamos el gennaker entre tres y cuatro veces, pero navegamos principalmente con g\u00e9nova y vela mayor, manteniendo una velocidad media ligeramente inferior a los 7 nudos con vientos alisios de solo 15-18 nudos.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Antigua, all\u00e1 voy \u2013 Sentado en el muelle de la bah\u00eda<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>Todos los d\u00edas disfrut\u00e1bamos del gran flybridge del Elba para tomar una copa al atardecer, de la gran mesa de la ba\u00f1era para almorzar y cenar, protegidos del viento por la lona de la ba\u00f1era.<\/strong>&nbsp;En la amplia cocina se preparaban comidas muy sabrosas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Y, por \u00faltimo,&nbsp;<strong>Despu\u00e9s de solo 17 d\u00edas llegamos a Antigua.<\/strong>. Ser el \u00fanico barco amarrado en English Harbour fue una sensaci\u00f3n extra\u00f1a, pero facilit\u00f3 la transici\u00f3n de vuelta a la vida \u201creal\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00a1Fue una de mis traves\u00edas m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidas \u23ed y sin duda la que menos horas de motor requiri\u00f3!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gracias de nuevo, Peter, por tu confianza, y que el viento sople a favor de su afortunado propietario.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We recently posted about an English couple who chose to\u00a0live the Caribbean dream on board their Elba 45.
